how far can you take 30# injectors??
how far can you take 30# injectors??
im building my 383 and i have a set of red top SVO30# injectors, how far can i take them hp wise?? i dont want to puke an engine due to me starving the engine!!
Re: how far can you take 30# injectors??
You also need to take your fuel pressure into consideration. I've seen LS1 car go as high as 460rwhp on their stock 28# injectors. But they were maxxed out @ 98% DC.

First, don't size injectors using "rwHP"... they need to be sized based on flywheel HP. The injectors could car less how much power is lost in the drivetrain.
There are online injectors sizing calculators and they tend to be very conservative. They generally assume a brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) of 0.50 #/HR/HP, and limit the injector to an 80% DC. Using that assumption, you run out of injector very fast. However, it does insure that you don't drive the injectors too high on duty cycle, where both the flow capacity, injector life, and the spray pattern can be adversely affected.
For a well-tuned NA engine, you might see BSFC's closer to 0.45 #/HR/HP. The popular inijectors don't seem to get into trouble until they exceed 90% DC, so you could use these less conservative inputs to the sizing programs.
When you say you are also running nitrous, that will not affect injector selection unless you are running a dry system.

I would say around 430rwhp and less if you have a big convertor.
Thrusday at MORE performance I got 518 and 558tq out of a blown vette with 30 SVO's but it also had an FMU
