You can't really correlate 60-ft time to pulling the front wheels. When the car in that picture ran 9.04@155, with a 1.3 60-ft time, the front wheels never left the ground. I run 1.6's and I've never pulled the front wheels.

4:56's and n20. I pulled a 1.507 60' and pulled both the wheels 6+", I have 475hp & 510 TQ, and the bullet proof drive train. So I can do it over and over again.

It really doesn't take that much power to get the wheels off the ground. With a bone stock motor, headers, DFI, 4000 stall, 4.88 gears, and 9" slicks, I would get air under both tires on every run.
Note that Rick's Trans Am has only a 4.56 rear gear, but a bunch of HP.

All LT1 motor and only a 9" Hoosier slick

Its mostly about suspension. Sure you need some torque, but weight transfer and suspension are where it is at. Even down in the mid 1.5's my car only picks one wheel a few inches. It is less efficient to go up than ahead.

a stock LT1 f-body can pull the wheels off the ground (yes, stock 275hp, stock tq) its all about suspension and weight reduction

rip all things unnecessary from the front, put weight behind the rear axle, DEAD HOOK, and your wheels will come off the ground.

and i mean remove everything, bumper supports, fog lights, front sway bar, very light weight skinnys, remove AIR, remove winshield washer crap, etc etc etc

Atljar,yup,1.8x and the left front was off the ground, check the picture from GMHTP at the bottom of this link http://hometown.aol.com/racinlt1/index.html

my car has pulled the left front on almost every run for the last year with 60's varying from 1.8x-1.51 and the 1.5 60's the left front was 6-8" and right front was about 2".
since then i did the BMR Xtreme rear swaybar, and both fronts started going 3-4" evenly.

Racin...Do you have a passenger rear airbag or no? Just curious whats required to keep it level, whether the xtreme swaybar or just a good swaybar and a bag?

A 7.5 10 bolt won't take that much abuse will it?

no airbag here,i think they are more of a "crutch" then a well setup suspension. Many guys have great luck with them, but i was out 60 footing some guys when i still had mostly stock stuff.
My stock torque arm dealt with a bunch of 1.5x 60's,but was bent pretty bad.

the stock rear can take some abuse, but i have a spooled 9".

if you look at GMHTP when they did the LT1 bolt on shootout, some of those guys were pulling one tire off the ground...its all in weight transfer and how much power you can get to the ground.

For example, Buick GN's will pull the tires rather easily with lower ET's because with the right suspension/brake setup (or a transbrake) they can leave with as much as 12PSI of boost available...multiply that by 20-25HP per LB and add about 145 (stock N/A HP) and you see why
