How does a MAC muffler flow?
I never hear of anyone here talking about these. I'm happy with mine other than the fact that it's not S.S. I am wondering how they are supposed to flow compared to the other more popular brands?
I am wondering the same thing! I have a Mac muffler as well and love the sound it gives off..I've had many people compliment me on it!!! I know it has a couple deflector plates inside so it is not a complete flow through like the Dynomax.
Here's another nod to the MAC muffler. The sound is beautiful music. I cut the resonators off and got rid of a droning at cruise. At idle it is just a bit louder than stock, but it opens up quite nicely.
I put a cut out on my car, and noticed no improvement in track times whether capped or uncapped, so I'm inclined to think that it must flow quite well. Looking through the thing and seeing daylight on the other end, also makes me believe that it can't be very restrictive.
Over all, I'm so pleased with the MAC muffler, that I'm considering building an SS system around it.

I love the sound too and i also have had many compliments about it. It's too bad it doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves.
I just wish it was stainless steel. I'm lucky i don't drive my car through the winter, otherwise i don't think it would have lasted as long as it has.
I'd be interested to see how the cutout with a MAC muffler does on a dyno.

Do you frequent the tfbm mailing list?
I imagine I might be seeing yo at one of the tfbm club events?
I'm from Sarnia, and I do get out to some of the events.
I'm on my second one and i had sent my first one back after 4 years cuse one of the deflection plates broke it''s spot weld and they were really good about the situation after i told them that it sounded like a rattle trap and i would make sure everyone knew it was a Mac . I threatened to just go get a flowmaster because i got the run around, then i got their attension. Quote"dont do that we out flow Our best competition by over 100cfm." whether or not that was true i don't know but it was a pretty bold claim. i think (not gonna swear to it) but it was like 8 or 900 cfm. I would have to really dig deep to find the e-mail but that's what i was told

I used to be on the message board quite a bit, but i guess they got rid of it now - that's too bad, it was a good way to keep in touch.
