How do you know when O2's need to be replaced?

My car is running a little rich. What is the best way to tell if o2's are bad. I can scan with free scan but i don't know what the numbers are supposed to be.

Thanks,

A really bad O2 will probably cause the SES light to come on.
I read somewhere that they should be replaced at about the 50,000 mile mark.
Regards,Mark.

with bad 02s the car usually sputters and gives off an occasional backfire.

I am just trying to figure out why my mileage is only 21 with 95% 65 mph driving? I will get a good scan tomorrow and maybe make a new post and hope someone will find a problem.

Your MV readings should move up and down, if they are sluggish or dont move there wearing out.

Wish my mileage was that good!
