theres a belt tensioner you put a socket on and twist, this give the belt slack to get it on, then you release it. Its under the car to the left of the crankwheel, it pretty small in size.

the help of another person is very good

you go under the car and turn the tensioner and have someone put the belt on the alt.

I usually thread it down from the top and get it on everything but the tensioner, then i pull the tensioner out of the way and slip it into place.

I leave the crank pulley as last. A pull on the tensioner and it's easy to slip over the crank pulley.

this is a pretty easy job by yourself. Jack the car up, drop the belt in from the top and route around the altenator. Climb under car and route the rest of the pullies. put a socket on the tensioner to ease tension and slip everything in place.

I replace by tension and belt not too long ago, it took longer to jack the car up/down and find the right wrench than it did to replace the parts.
