How do I test the CKP circuit?

How do I test the CKP circuit?
I got a code that my CKP sensor is malfunctioning and another code about the circuit.
How do I test the circuit?
Do I isolate the circuit and test the ohms?
If I do, which wire on the pcm is it?
Thanks

Re: How do I test the CKP circuit?
The main signal wire of crank pos sensor is on the yellow wire that goes to C1 pin 1 of the PCM (c1 is the red connector). It gets it's 12 volts from the ignition fuse #11 10amp. and it gets its ground from the PCM conector C2(black connector) pin 3. which also feeds ground to the opti.
The first thing to do is check all the connectors involved with the ckp and check for loose wires or corroded or bent pins. Be sure there is a good ground and at least 12 volts at the sensor. Check the sensor to be sure metal filings are not stuck to it. Dirt and oil won't have an effect on it but metal will. Check the sensor is not loose and torque to 35-53 in-Lbs if it is.
a P0335 is set when the PCM compares hi res signal of the opti to the lo res angle of the CKP. Therefore if you have any opti signal codes present, look at them first. A P0336 is similar to a 335 and in this early morning bleary eyed read, I don't see the difference to be honest so I'll read them both when I get home to see what the difference is.
Hope that helps

^ yup
andother then checking for imputs to it the only other real way to test the signal is with a osciliscop. That will point you in the direction of a faulty signal. But you are fairly limited after that
