I know of a car that ran 13.1 with stock manifolds and cats. Stock cam and Heads intake few bolt ons. This was in the heat and it rained all that day so humidity was super high. Bet it would go 12's in the cool air or at a lower Alt.

You can definately get into the 12's without heads/cam. I ran something like a 13.3 with a 2.1 60ft at 105 with most bolt-ons. SLP shorties, Random Tech Y-pipe, 4:11's. M6. With some better tires and some track time I could have gotten her into the high 12's.

seriously, you aren't getting into the 12s NA without head/cam and good exhaust. yeah yeah i read the mag w/ all the LT1s in the 12s.

reminds me of that Michael Bolt-on song, "Said no Head Work, but i Lied"

You can run 12's with bolt on's. But its not easily done, and it takes its toll on drivetrain.

Its easier to run 12's with a cam. Buy a proven cam or better, buy a custom cam from Bret Bauer. Bigger isnt always better (Madwolf will tell you this all day long)

Its very easy to run 12's with Lloyd Elliots H/C stuff even "SPD2MCH" can do it with 2.4 second 60's.

My Suggestions:

Good Midlengths since you have emissions: RK Sport/AS&M/MAC/SLP (Longtubes if you can still pass)
Good catback (Subjective)
Sticky Rubber (Drag Radials or ET's)
1.6 Full Roller Rockers ( Pro Mags or Crane/GMPP stuff) Springs to match
MADWOLF or Dyno TUNES
ASP 23% Crank Replacement Pulley (The only one worth getting IMO)
Gears 3.73's/4.10's depending on your cam.
Valvetrain/Cam- Talk to Bret Bauer/LLoyd Elliot or someone like Madwolf or something who knows how different cams run
Heads - LLoyd Elliot or AI
Clutch, I have no Idea since I have a slow A4 , but everyone I talk to likes Spec.
Electric WP - CSR is what I have it works nicely Mez and Summit make one too. (One of my best mods)

It's so ironic. People tell you to search so you do. You bring up an old thread and people ask why you brought it up. Just be glad they didn't make a new topic, so all you would have to tell them is to search. I can easily get my LT1 into the 12's with full bolt ons and good tires.
