How to disconnect this battery? PICS!

Hey guys, I figured since everyone was so helpful with my last problem with the stat, this would be a piece of cake. I want to try Brent's way of eliminating skip shift (any opinions?) and it calls for disconnecting the battery. Here are some pics of my battery, how do I go about disconnecting it? I went out and bought a proper tool set tonight I'm ready to go.

Use a 5/16" Wrench.

Use a 5/16" boxed end wrench (better if it is a 6 point) and remove the negative battery cable. That's all.

On the black side terminal (nearest the fender) on the battery.

The little 5/16" terminals that are screwed in the battery. There is one that is surrounded by BLACK , and the other is surrounded by RED.

Thanks Kris! Hey guys, bit of a problem. There is no GRAY wire as listed in Brent's guide to disable the skip shift. There is a white wire and I removed it successfully, but there't nothing in slot 13 at all. What should I do?

I use a 1/4" drive 8mm socket wrench...I think the 3/8" drive wrench will fit in there too, or at least it will on the positive side.

I just had to click on this post to see if it was for real. I guess it is. Good luck with the skip shift mod.

Hey, I'm just glad I asked. I would much rather look like a dumbass over the internet then turning into a very crispy and fried version of myself . All's well now, skip shift works flawlessly.

Might be cramped for a wrench in there, try vice grips and if you do use a wrench make sure the back of the wrench dosen't touch the a/c or else sparks will be flying, lol...

You always remove the negative. Unless you touch the positive post, no sparks will fly. Why would you want to ruin the head of the bolt with vise-grips? They are lots bigger than a wrench anyway.

You're car is beautiful, I absolutely love that color - even though it isn't black.
