how to check timing?

how to check timing?

ok just like it says i want to check my timing to see where it's at how do i do that??

Timing is set by the PCM. If you hook up a scanner, it will show you the advance the PCM is trying to set. It does not tell you the actual timing, but since the Opti is feeding the cam and crank position to the PCM, its probably correct.

The only way to use a timing light would be to mark TDC on the damper, and add a degree marker to it.
