Friend of mine has a set of lt1 rods for sale, can't remember what year they're from. I'm told the lt1's got regular forged rods till 95 when they went to PM.

Is there a way to tell the difference between the two?

For a second there I misread it as BM rod and thought we were going to get into the 7 page discussion on which is better; the black mambas or the johnson rods. Hahaha.

As far as I know the only way to tell the difference is from the part numbers. Unless you break the rod or cut into it there is no way to differentiate the two just from site.

 

I seem to remember that PM rods had no machined balance pad on the cap, but I could be wrong.

 

Moving to LT1 Tech...
