Ported and polished MAF ends, will they help?

I had an extra MAF, so I took it apart, and did a real nice job taking the middle post out, and polishing the inside.

And as I was working on that, we were painting a buddy of mine's 95 vette. so i primed it, painted it, and cleared it at the same time as we did his car, so this thing looks awsome painted and clear coated touch red.

But back to the point, will I gain anything from this, it looks like this could flow a hell of alot more air.

The gains will be minimal if any. Some say the feel a difference but there isnt any hard evidence to support it.

The MAF isnt a restriction until your making mega HP.

Like 96z said, there isn't any hard evidence. Back in the day I had ported ends and I thought I felt a difference. I assure you I wasn't trying to notice a difference. When I installed an air foil I was expecting to notice a difference but I felt nothing.

I would highly recommend keeping your MAF sensor stock. (with screen and unported)
Ported ends will only contribute to inacurate readings of the MAF sensor.

I've done this and it didn't make any significant improvements--you're safer keeping it stock. Plus, (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) your computer will eventually "learn out" this mod in time and you'd need to have you're PCM reprogrammed for it to run correctly.
