Hours to remove engine/install 383?

Well I'm thinking of getting a 383 stroker from cmorotsports.com...the reasoning is that I don't know how long my engine will hold up with a 100 shot.....so I might just go with a 383. However I was wondering how long it will usually take to remove my engine and install the 383!

Sorry-
4hrs?
thats a load of crap as far as i'm concerned.
its going to take you an hour to get the car up safely

I suggest pulling from the top if your doing it yourself.
its not all that bad i guess...
its the accessories that suck

id say 24 hrs start to finish

very good choice with C motorsports btw

I don't think 4 hrs is a load of anything if you have what you need to work with.

Huge difference between doing it yourself for the first time in your home garage vs. a shop with lifts, hoists, air tools, etc. I did it myself in my garage from the top (first time). Took me about two full days (~16 hours). At my friend's shop with all the equipment, it can be done by Buddy (a mechanic with ~30y experience) with a bit of help in about 4h from the bottom.

If he's experienced with the 4th gen I'd figure maybe 10-12 hours. It's takes longer to install than to remove.

my mechanic only took 5 hours to drop the engine, tranny, and driveshaft. iguess your average do it yourself warrior could get it done in under 24 hours

So I'll pay the $5500 or so for the engine and only $600 or so for it to be put in??

And if anyone else is interested in a stroker, we're trying to get a group purchase going......so go to that forum and maybe we can knock some money off!!

Hmm....being I paid someone to do the install of the hot cam, I'm not too sure I can handle this, especially since I don't think I would have the tools for the removal...or the install for that matter! Anyways, how many hours should it take?
