Yes they are referring to the metal where they "form" together the two sheets and then its sprayed with undercoating. No idea what that is called, joint of some sort.

As for the ramps, they worked on mine before i had the ground effects. Rubbed a tad, but never hurt anything. With ground effects just need some 2x4s and they still work. And no you dont need to hold them. They have a rubber base pads that prevents them from sliding.

yeah i don't like the idea of jacking there either, i use the front crossmember when jacking the front and place jackstands to the left and right of it at the... (and thats where i'll end my sentence, im going to feel dumb as **** when somebody says the name)

I have had my rino ramps for around 2 years and have not once had someone hold them while I have driven up. Just go up slow and be on a straight surface and you will be fine. They have a durable rubber like pad underneath that grips like tire tread. They are the best $30 I spent, so quick and easy to get the car in the air. I would recomend getting a set. If you do get a set look for the grey set, I have heard they are wider and hold more weight. I have the black ones and they work great though.

I think it is around that height, I have the instructions at home, I can take a look. It does give you quite a lot of height, higher than a jack.

by "jack" are you referring to the stock jack for use with the spare tire?
