HotCam - Wowee

I just picked my SS up from the shop after having the hotcam, rr, jet hot headers, aluminum driveshaft and my new clutch put in and all I can say is WOWEEEEEE. OMG OMG OMG OMG This car is an absolute BLAST to drive. The guy that did the engine work thinks it too loud but it now sounds like it looks. I love it. He didnt think I should waste my money on having my ecm redone, but my SES light is on, will a retune by pcmforless or a dyno tune cure that?

Get your pcm reprogrammed most guys say there is at least 20rwhp in that alone. If you think that hot cam is a blast imagine having a real big bumpstick in there.

What up Kelly

FUN isn't it. I WANT A CAM But that has to wait until i get the new motor in like 10 years...lol.

Told you, you would love what the headers make it sound like.

I would get code for the SES read before i went and spent money for tuning.......around here "Auto Zone" does it for free...most likely emissions code triped.

But like the boys said tuning is good......VERY GOOD

Talk to ya later

dont forget about a LT4 KM
pcmforless or madwolf can help you with tuning
YOU NEED TUNING
and have your car scanned at auto zone for free

Go through Bryan at PCM and get a cable from Andrew at AKM cables. Awesome to deal with. I tell everyone this and I'll tell you. Reprogramming is something everyone will need sooner or later when modding the car. SO go get it.

Tunning made a HUGE difference for me after the hotcam install. It was a night and day difference as far as mpg, driveablitly, and power. I gained about .3-.35 and about 3mph in the 1/4 mile after tunning and a lt4 km.

What cam were/or are you running?? To get those type of gains from tuning you are talking huge power with a big cam.....or else something was totally wrong to begin with.

Cam is one of the best things I've done to the car performance wise (excluding the bottle when I had it, vacuum leaks and the converter didn't like it though). I picked up 7 tenths and 5 mph from it.

You will need programing to clear that code. The tuning will improve driveability and horsepower as well.

Time for some head work now! Good luck!

I've seen people pick up as much as 40rwhp with a good dyno tune versus the stock tune. You'd be suprised what tuning can do for a car with a medium sized cam.
