someone else from Roseville. Have you smogged your CC305 yet on the Dyno Emissions tester?
Haven't had to do it yet. My reg is up in Jan so it will have to happen soon. I'm waiting to get it done before I do the heads. PCMforless said with programming that the cam can pass, I hope so, otherwise I know a few guys in the area

I'm in Cali and my cc305 passed, I had to get a lil tuning done though. I wish I had gone with a bigger cam. Don't get me wrong though, it is great for a daily driver and passing emmissions.

Well the C305 is pretty good, with some tweaking to the specs it can be a awesome cam for a stock headed car.

We have a tweaked version of it, that will put down some serious RWHP numbers. It will need springs and pushrods to go with it and I would advise the Comp R lifters too.

Unfortantely thats one of the biggest off the shelf 114 ls cams. Us Ca guys are pretty limited what we can run.

I'll be running it in my 383 with a mild set of 2.02/1.60 iron heads. I'm hoping for 350rwhp with good drivability

AndyB,

I went to Marco Automotive, 9401 Greenback Lane. They seemed like cool people too, not trippin like the shops I went to prior. I will go there the next time as well...Who knows, maybe with a bigger cam

Andy, you could run a much wilder cam than that on a 383 and still pass smog in CA. I'm pretty sure I could come up with a better cam for you that will make power an pass smog. Non of the cams are legal on a CA car anways, so just passing smog is the big one.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. First I want to make sure I can safely pass with this cam. If it passes with room to spare I'll be going bigger I'll go as big as smog and drivability will let me

Edit: Just how big do you think us Ca can go and still pass the Dyno Emissions test?

I would have to run some numbers, but obviously we would have to play with the LSA and the advance/retard of the cam alot to get it perfect.

If you have alot of room to spare then we will definately be able to do something.

After tuning, would the CC305 idle smoother than the hotcam?

Marco does smog now. Excellent. I am a long time customer of them and have had them work on every car I've owned. Maybe they wont care about long tubes as long as I have cats attached to them

Here is a short sound clip of mine, crappy I know, I'll get a better one after the 383 goes in Unless you notice the faster idle it doesn't sounds much different than stock ( in my car anyways)

Mine passed on a stock tune, and mine even passes the dyno sniffer with the FLP's and two cats.

The CC305 is a good cam, with nice idle characteristics and great driveability. From what i have gathered from many folks, this is the largest cam that passes emissions consistently without a lot of program tweaking.

I'll be back on the market for a new cam for my stroker this winter.
