Thumbs up Hotcam track results!

I'm posting this for my brother 96-RAM-AIR, he will add to it when he gets off work tonight. We took his car to Alabama International Dragway yesterday and got the following run from it.

60ft 1.71
1/8th 7.9x
1/4 12.42 @ 109.9mph

That was the only good run, the second run had a crappy 60ft and was a 12.68 at a little over 110. The mods to the car are as follows. CFH stage one LT1 heads, LT4 hotcam kit, hooker long tube header, borla exhaust, FLP level IV trans, Vig 3200 stall, 3.73 gears, ed wright PCM, electric water pump, and a SLP cold air kit. The run was made on 17x9 WS6 wheels all the way around with nitto Dr's on the rear. Race weight was 3660lbs. I know the car has a 12.2x in it with some more tuning and a few other small details, ie plugs, wires, fuel filter change, manual converter lock switch. I just wanted to let all the people that are thinking about the hotcam know that it is a worthwhile mod.
Thanks

Hmm have you had it dyno tuned? I know of a guy from a local club that has a hotcam only in his full weight car and it runs 12.3s. Do you have flow number on those heads

Holy crap, that dude probably has the stock headed hot cam record. What are the other bolt on's he has? The car hasn't been on a dyno yet, it has an ed wright PCM. I don't have the flow numbers on the heads, my brother will post them when he gets on to add his .02

It can be done with a high stall converter and weight reduction.

12.3s aren't TOO uncommom w/ a well setup car. Most people @ sea level see 12.5s w/ a good setup.
I believe the record was a 12.07 but I don't remember who did it.

Man..nice times...I live in birmingham and go to that track a lot. Have you even been to Nationals in Downtwn Birmingham on Sat. Nights?

I am about to put in a cam but a little stronger of a cam with a whole new top end set up. Hope my times are that good! I need some Drag Radials.....or I will have no traction!

Congrats! I'm sure your brother has a lot left in that beast.

12.07? Isn't the bolt on no cam record Sar2Ks 11.9?, I'm sure some one can muster out a better time than that.

Ken, sir..you are my idol!!!!!

just out of curiousity, i have a very similar setup to yours, why did you go with 3.42's instead of 3.73's?...i have the 3.73's with a 2200 RPM stall...could i possibly see times close to yours?
