HotCam supporing mods

Because of emissions, i will almost definatly be getting a hotcam now. Right now i have 3.23 gears(auto). Will that be good enough to get it into the hotcam powerband? Would it make that much of a difference moving to 3.73? This is assuming i get a 2800 stall converter as well.

Anyone? Are 3.23 gears good enough to get the car into the powerband of a hotcam? I'd like to get all this stuff done (cam, torque converter, gears) at the same time so I dont have to keep going back to the shop. But i dont want to waste money on something that wont make much of a difference.

2800 stall, and 3:73s are often involved in a hotcam combo
