I have recently purchased an LT4 hotcam kit, headers, will do full exhaust, have CAI, throttle body bypass, that's it.
Wondering what kind of power difference well ported vs. stock heads will make with this setup.
My goal is 350 rwhp, I think I may come up short with unported heads.

machine porting heads is an expensive choice considering you're only going to be shy of the 350 mark by ~20hp. Put that $500 somewhere else. Since you already have the kit w/ rr's, why not sell your cam and get a bigger cam for $50-$100 more that'll put you well over the 350hp mark. The hotcam isn't the only cam that works, in fact, it's not even that great.
I really believe that ported heads will make a substantial difference in your performance. 350 RWHP is about 390-400 HP at the flywheel. Making this much power is going to be a tough job with stock heads. Although I am sure that there are people on this board that will tell you that they have done it.
Porting your heads will make achieving this level of performance much easier and you will not need a huge duration cam to get you there (i.e. better daily drivability).

i wouldnt run stock heads, unless money is a huge issue... and im not a fan of the hot cam either , but i guess if i wanted a daily driver with decent amount of hp id use that, .. but i still dont like the flow out of stock heads..
Well, I am using the car for roadracing events, but I need to pass emissions or I can't even get a license plate, so I figured the hotcam kit would be a good compromise, especially considering the cost of the kit.
Emissions and cost aside, I would have gone with a bigger cam.

CC305 is a little better than a hot cam (Slightly more duration and a noticeable difference in lift -- .525 for hot cam vs .544 for CC305)
Guys are running mid 12s w/ stock heads on the CC305 w/ full bolt ons. And it's on a 114 LSA, so it'll be easier to pass emissions.
Another cam you might want to consider is the Crane 222/230 cam. It has about the same intake lift as the CC305, with much more exhaust lift. I know it's not as popular as the CC305, but it seems it would be a good performer. I made a post on it before to see if anyone has experience with it.

CC305 - 220/230 .544/.544 114 LSA
