Hot Cam kit and Converter

After a number of considerations, I have decided to go with the GM Hot Cam Kit. Is changing the torque converter a must? Any other changes needed? Car will be 12 years old next month, (I purchased it new) and just turned over 32,500 miles.

Re: Hot Cam kit and Converter

I have a similar cam the comp 218/224 and I am running it in a built LT1 with the stock converter. It runs and performs good but I am getting ready to build my A4 and throw about a 2400 - 2600 RPM stall converter on it. It will make it accelerate faster and the motor will really come to life. If I were you I would considering the low miles on the car.

Thank you for the help, and that sounds like sound advice. I will go with the kit for now, and follow up with the converter.

A converter is not required at all, but a 2000-2800 rpm stall with applicable stall wall fix for 94-95 cars (just incase), would compliment it nicely.

Call our board sponser Fuddle and see what they recommend, nothing like getting a professional opinion. I'd say 2800-3000 range.
