Did anyone else notice the dynograph freaks out at the 5250 cross between HP and TQ numbers? I would be more inclined to think it was a dyno problem. Does the car feel like it is running right?

That is the plan, along with better valve springs; I think 96LT1TX is correct the lt4 hot cam kit springs are not enough. Need to save up the cash for that though. It runs smooth and a lot stronger now, I have no traction as soon as I go wot from a stop. I am going to upgrade the valve springs and push rods next, then think about the heads and intake.

Well I have not heard anyone else have any issues with the LT4 kit springs and would think it would be a common problem if this was a common issue. This leads me to believe that this is some sort of other valvetrain issue.

still at work so I cannot see the dyno. When I get home I will look at it.

Everyone talks crap about Hotcam LT4 springs that I ran for 60,000 miles, but everyone enjoys dropping valves with beehives

Ya... I ran my HOTcam on the LT4 springs for probably 50k miles. I don't know how well they were holding up towards the end but they never broke. I bet a good Crane 10308 kit would be great.

If through an A4, a cam only LT1 with just a hotcam hits 340rwhp... then why was everyone telling me a year ago that my setup (full bolt on, CC306, ported/polished heads w/ 5angle competition valve job, 1.6rr's, LT's and dumps, 3.73's.. etc etc etc) was only going to put out 350-370rwhp depending on my tune???? I've yet to get the dyno tune done because I'm waiting to put in a Lvl 2 performabuilt this spring and the car has been sitting since May. Obviously I haven't got my numbers yet, but how would worked heads and a 306 only do 10-30rwhp more than a cam only hotcam car?

My power estimates are made with the assumption that all parts are working together and it's got a good tune. Stock headed Hotcam cars can make that kinda power, doesnt mean they will. A stock headed CC306 car should creep 350's and possibly 360rwhp. Good heads with a CC306 should be 400rwhp every time. I've seen LE1 heads and CC306 combo's do over 400rwhp. I've seen GTP ported LT4's and CC306 do 428rwhp through a 9" rear. If you have hacked heads they could hinder your power making capabilities. All my old school buddies wanted a shot a porting my heads when I put a CC306 in my car, but I waited, I did the right thing, and sent them to someone who knows what they are doing and has countless proven combo's.

I guess all I can say is don't believe everything you hear.

I took my heads to a reputable shop within an hour drive of where I live. I saw the results from the work they did on a friends heads and decided to go with them. The heads should be right around LE2's numbers. My dyno results and track numbers in the spring will tell the tale. Obviously a 3200 stalled auto isn't helping my cause any, but I would hope once I get my dyno tune that I hit 400rwhp through my 10-bolt.

Post it up when you get track and dyno numbers. Then you'll know for sure.

I definitely will. I'll be throwing the sauce in the mix as well. I won't be locking my stall during the dyno, nor will I be spraying on the dyno, though.

Here is what he said about the lock up

The converter lockup was commanded on the dyno
the WOT lockup is set to 90MPH
your unbuilt trans and converter was slow to lock
about 106MPH it would start reducing slip.

we paid specific atten to lockup when we started seeing brakup and
the hole in the power curve at 5200.

so Lockup was confirmed in the programing and on the dyno
just was not 100% affective due to the power level vs stock parts.

The car is running great, it has a slight shake at Idle but it is gone when I give it any amount of throttle. It will not hesitate at all, I went wot from a stop and 20mph roll and it cooked my 275 tires both times. It runs better than it did when I first bought it 3.5yrs ago; really smooth and plenty of power with not much traction on my cold tires.
