I appreciate your apology. I was just a little suspicious when I first read the post, but now everything it straightened out it definately seems like 95TA8280 was well taken care of. I can see how you were upset by my previous post.

The engines that you have worked on look good. It looks like you are creating yourself a monster! I like the LT1 coil pack setup as well. It appears that all of your work is top notch. I would have more sitting under the hood of my car, but there's only so much a broke college student can do. My 383 build was completely unexpected due to a spun bearing. So far I'm well pleased with it and learned a lot during the build.

Looks like a nice car you've got. If you ever get in the nashville area let me know, I'd like to see that 383 setup!!!!

95TA8280-

How are you now doing for fuel economy? I have an Lt4 stock cam and am still debating on going that way or an lt4 hotcam (gas milage is a pretty big issue with me) and with a higher rpm powerband... I'm still trying to decide. Also I'd love to see your new numbers.

I actually picked the car up from the mechanic, drove it home, and went back to school....it's been driven about 20 miles in the last week, so I don't know....sorry!

Look at my #'s in the sig, I average around 17.5-18mpg with a commute that runs about 25% town and 75% highway. I would think with a smaller cam gas mileage should be better. Note that I also have 3.73's and cruise about 80mph.

I was pulling 17/27 before my o2's died and it got really cold, then it fell to 14.5mpg/23mpg

Do a set of 3.73's and a hotcam loose that much? I know I've got to sack mileage for power, I drive maybe 120 miles a week when not in classes in a week, with carpooling this semester I may stay under 180/week, maybe less... (so I can ditch quite a few mpg- if I fill up only once a week I'd be plenty happy) I'd rather be able to tune out some of the losses - which I hear helps - Someone told me a swap of lt4 hotcam, then tuned, was ONLY a loss of 2mpg city and about 2mpg hwy... (is that right???)

With intake/headers/catback and otherwise stock, what does an lt4 car get to the wheels? If lt1's with catback/headers/CAI are pulling 280-300rwhp, that would mean an lt4 with the same mods would get atleast 330rwhp, which would mean the lt4 heads +lt4 cam were worth the same as the hotcam kit alone power wise -- and the lt4 car would get better gas mileage because it isnt such an agressive cam, but it has the head work --- am I on crack here ?
