Hot Cam "Alternatives"

I've heard a lot about cheaper more powerful setups than the hot cam kit and was wondering what they were. I did a search but only came up with the cams and not a full "kit." If anyone has any experience and can tell me their setup and the cost that would be great!

I do believe you have some bad information, but I could be wrong. The Hot- cam is a nice bang for the buck set-up. The next time you hear of a cheaper more powerful cam and kit, you might want to make a quick note of it.

Re: Hot Cam "Alternatives"

I think what was said before was for the money some people would pay a little bit more for a slightly bigger cam. There were some cams listed in a post I made a few days ago, but they were jsut the camshaft and then you would have to find the correct springs to use and then find rockers. While I was pricing out all my parts the cheapest rockers I found for our cars were $186 new. Do the math... for a complete setup I think the hotcam kit is the way to go. Its what I plan on doing now .

Re: Hot Cam "Alternatives"

well how much would a safe 305 setup cost? (not including gears/stall) I'm guessing over twice as much as a hot cam?

Im guessing hot cam is the most bang for the buck

Re: Hot Cam "Alternatives"

The CC305 makes damn near the same numbers as a Hotcam. If you're going to spend more money, get a cam bigger than this.

Re: Hot Cam "Alternatives"

didn't know the numbers were the same. I've always thought hotcam was a step up from a cc304. Looks like the hot cam is going in now.
