Horse Power Estimate

What kind of power do you estimate the Advanced Induction 200cc head and cam package is putting out at the motor on an LT1 A4 with all the complimenting boltons? Im about to purchase a set of injectors, want to insert the correct hp amount into the formula for correct size injectors. Im hoping for 420 at the wheels, what is that at the crank?

Re: Horse Power Estimate

figure 477flywheel HP so a set of 42's would leave ya in a nice comfort zone.

Re: Horse Power Estimate

Anywhere from 400 to 420hp is not uncommon. But it's the ETs that tell the real story.

I would say that would be about correct. I make 385rwhp NA with old ARE heads and a CC306 which is about 465 at the crank considering 21% drivetrain loss through my TH400 and AI's stuff is much, much better than where I'm at. I do have every possible bolt-on too and did 527rwhp with a 175 shot.

Re: Horse Power Estimate

Thanks guys for the responses, much appreciated. Maybe you could help me with just one more thing. On the racetronics website, it has a set of 42lb injectors that are 35 bucks each, or a FLOW MATCHED set for 360 dollars. Would I be alright just buying the 8 individual injectors for 35 dollars each, 280 bucks for 8, or is it absolutely necessary to buy the flow matched ones?

Near the bottom there is an explanation of the flow matched ones, is it necessary? I see this thread is heading towards a fuel topic, I dont know where to post this thread at now. Guess Ill try and get my answer and end this thread!

Re: Horse Power Estimate

well the 42# injectors should work just fine as the ECU should compensate for the bigger injectors

Re: Horse Power Estimate

The PCM doesn't "compensate" for the larger injectors. It has to have the new flow rating and offsets programmed in.
