Hookers really worth the $$$?

Headers that is.
Alright heres the deal. I'm looking for some headers for my 95 Z28. I really want to get some Coated Hooker Supercomp LT headers. After looking around for the last few days at Hooker headers and other headers I'm starting to wonder. Are Hooker headers really worth it? I was just looking at some Pacesetter Coated long tubes for 375$ over Hookers 600$. How are these pace setters, are they equal length tubes? What do you guys think?

Pace setters blow hookers out of the water!!! Pace setters have no slip fit and better ground clearance than hookers. Pace setters are not flanged though...where they meet the Y pipe. Take $50.00 that you saved from the hookers and have them flanged for easy y pipe removal. No matter what anyone tells you trust me pace setters have better plug access aswell.

what a waste of money!!! You would sell what you have spend 600 more $$$ and not pick up one Horse power. I hope you have shorties if you are planning on doing this.

Hmm, well actually! What if you were cruisin down the road, pulling up some where with your new headers and exhaust. The sound of the engine may get her attention and a stock car wouldnt have. lol, anyways back on topic!

I have never used a Hooker, but if I were to try one, I think a dyno would not be very comfortable.

Hookers are decent headers, not great but decent. DOn't much about Pacesetters, but that price is almost too low. Mkaes me suspicious of the quality. Just a good ceramic coating is in the range of ~$150 retail.

Re: Hookers really worth the $$$?

I have found some good deals on Hooker LT's before but they werent coated. I live close to the Gulf. Well actually close is an understatement, I have salt water in my back yard lol. I'm affraid if I get uncoated headers they will rust away in no time with all the salt that's in the air here. What do you all think, and what if I wrapped them in header insulation?

There expensive but kook's will probably last the longest w/o rusting. Even coated headers rust; I know I have jet hot coated tpis's.

Re: Hookers really worth the $$$?

Yeah but I don't have the money for Kooks. Ceramic coating slows the rust though correct?
