Sounds good, how much louder is the car now that there's no cats and long tubes?

At idle, it's not much louder at all.

At light throttle cruising, it's a little but not bad.

At heavy throttle input it flat screams!!!

I LOVE IT!

i also have the magnaflow. i bought the high flow cat and the cat back for 460 including shipping from www.exhaustproslinc.com. it sounds awesome. i am running edelbrock shorties and the sound is better than lwillmann's link. (no offense l) that clip is a little rasp to it. mine does not. its all rumble with a litlle bit of a spitting sound when you really hit it. i absolutely love it and would recommend it in a second. its respectable when you dont hammer it and screams when you put it to the floor. i bought the car in ohio and drove it back to california and would roll the windows down and floor it going through a tunnel. no joke it sounded like a nascar!! take that with a grain of salt (it is my car soo...) but an awesome product all the way around. it exits the muffler with dual 4" pipes. how can you not like that?? mario andretti also endorses magnaflow. i would like to think that means something.

I thought it was intersting that my $31.50 Carsound High Flow CAT had Magnaflow printed on the box.

I think it's the cat that Magnaflow uses in their exhaust systems. The Ebay seller that I bought it from had a TON of Magnaflow stuff for sale. Not a bad price I'd say.

from clips i'm concluding that the magnaflow sounds more raw & the hooker sounds a bit more tuned (?)

considering a hooker aerochamber muffler (only) for my budget; performance in comparison to full catback should be minor considering this is my only mod - right?

I don't know that I'd call the sound of my exhaust raw. I consider mine "tuned" sounding as you put it.

I do know that the one LS1 with stock manifolds and y-pipe with the Hooker catback sounded raw-er than my Magnaflow setup at high RPM.

At idle, both setups sound great IMO, but I'll admit to being partial.

just got the hooker catback installed last night. Magnaflow sounds pretty similar, i hate the tips though, and it's more pricey.

edit: the magnaflow cats suck from what i hear.

From what people have said they like the Hookers sound better than Magnaflow and I agree with them. There is always the possibility of running true duals
