LT1's SUCK!!!!!!!!

ok well for the past few weeks the car has been running great, had hooker lt's and 2 cats installed along with 1.6 roller rockers..well today was drving to a friends house and i was crusing at 40 mph then all the sudden the car started to slow down, so i was like ok.. I started to give it more gas and as i did that the RPM's fell, came to a red light and then the rpm's went to 100-300 to 200-400 and then just sounded like pshhhhhhhh pshhhhhh pshhhhhhhhhh and the engine cut off...started to push it out of the way off the raod. tried to start it and it wouldnt start, then when it would start it would run like crap at LOW rpms and the CAI would suck in TREMENDOUS air, like really loud. there is no noise comming from the engine, but froma few guys they said i could have clogged cats..well unbolted one side of my cats, and its still doing the same thing...it will ilde very low and when i try to give it gas it would DIE...and after i let it run for a while with low idle the ENIGINE SHAKES badly till it dies.....PLEASE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR????

Well first of all lt1s dont suck, but if you want to put it that way, then your car does suck, now as for your prob, lt1 suck so get a ford engine

how about a fuel issue? fuel pump, fuel filter?

wouldnt think so, i changed the fuel filter out bout a month ago..but when i took off the cats and had the car running the car smelt like gas comming from the header?

Check your spark plugs. My old 94 did it and I changed the plugs and it was okay from then on. It only had 80000 miles at the time and the guy I got it from had changed them at 60000 miles.

I think titles like that have the opposite effect because of the perceived attitude. Might get a lot of looks, but not a lot of helpful posts.

Have you checked fuel pressure?

i dunno, i was getting my cam isntalled today till this happen, i think they guy doing the cam install will come and pick it up and have it in his shop for a while...i dunno
this is really dumb..my life isnt go well for me at all..

Im gonna guess fuel pump. Check the shrader valve on back of the intake too see if you have any pressure whats so ever. When mine took a crap it made a pshhhh sound then a slight buzzing an would turn over but when any gas was introduced it would cut off.

hmmmmmm.............well the car has like 95k miles on it...
i wish i could check it but its not around me at all..its at a school parking lot...

Randy,

The fuel filter and pump really dont have that much affect on each other, just because you changed the filter the pump can still go out. Get that fuel presure checked, btw I heard your friend rolled his Lt1 on oil field?

neil350, lol yea he did......trying to race a decked out corvette, OIL field BAD BAD BAD ground level...its really bumpy and yea he didnt rolll it but he wrecked it, but he got it fixed..by the way he is the guy with the quad exhaust that goes in the middle and is red....but wehre do i know you from? are you badlt1?
