hooker LT installation instructions?
hooker LT installation instructions?
now that my y-pipe has finally come off back order, we're about to install my long tubes on my LT1. tomorrow we're doing the shift kit, and saturday, the headers go on...
now, as far as i know, the installation is "not that bad"... as i understand it, the most difficult part is just getting the headers into place. i was told that the driver's side isn't hard at all, and it should go into place with little motivation... however, the passenger side would require us to remove the alternator and starter... take off the motor mount, and jack up that side of the engine. once that's done, it should go right on. using zip ties, i should be able to re-route my plug wires after we replace the spark plugs, and that will keep them from being burnt up due to the extra heat produced by the headers. before the headers go on, i have to have holes welded in them for the O2's. i was told that i would have to extend the O2's and we could do that simply by splicing wires... whether or not that's true, i don't know. one guy helping out has done it before, so i assume it works cuz his is still running great.
to the best of my knowledge, that's all i need to know. anybody else know something that i don't? i don't want to run into any surprises when we start doing this that i could've avoided, we only have saturday to get the headers installed. thanx in advance.

For the driver's side you're going to have to take off the steering linkage to get the first primary into the header. There was a website somewhere that had the full instructions on how to do the LT install. Best of luck!
