Question Hooker LT Installation

I just received my Hooker Longtube w/ O2 sensors order for my Z28 and noticed that installation instructions state to raise the vehicle 36". I don't have jacks or jackstands that will raise the vehicle that far. Can anyone confirm whether it's necessary to raise the car that high. Also, anyone have any installation tips that might make the job go a little smoother?

I would agree on 36" I would have thought more. I did mine on a lift though.

I used some 3 ton SUV jackstands and some 4" thick solid concrete blocks. Also put wood between the jack head and the underside of the car.

Putting the rear on ramps will help too!

I used two layers of solid 4" blocks that were layed in a 2 block wide fashion (each block flat, two blocks side by side) alternate the block direction each layer to make it more stable, and put your jackstand so that it's 1/2 and 1/2 on each of the blocks.

I used 8 blocks (2 layers of 4 blocks each) for the jack as well.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Nobody around here seemed to have 36" jackstands, so I'm going to try to make due with 24"s. I have a feeling it's going to be a long ordeal; wish me luck!
