Home made CAI tips/suggestions/websites?
I tried searching, and found a few, but not much more than what I already knew - that you can make them!
I don't really want to pay $200 for a CAI.. I mean, it is just some pipe and a cone.
Anyone know of a direction site online to tell the best way to make one with dimensions/pics or anything?
Should I use PVC? Or metal pipe with a mandrel bend? Any ideas or leads would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to start on it today.
thanks

I have heard of them being made of PVC, but if you look in the for sale section you can get them at really good prices. I just purchased mine (Ligenfelter CAI) off a fellow board member for 100.00 shipped. I have heard that it is a PITA to get the PVC to go where the normal CAI would go. Lots of bends and joints.
Here's what i'm heading to the store for...
3" ABS pipe (it's thinner walled than PVC)
one 90 deg elbow either rubber or plastic and clamps or glue
K+N Filter RU-2820 (thanks to Dan Brummers suggestion from his personal experience)
then measure from the stok intake elbow over to the drop point for filter take into account the elbow (ABS pipe) and cut abs to match then measure down and take into accout length of filter and cut second piece.
assemble and install
keep me updated and let me know how it goes
Oh yea i've only been thinking about doing this for a year...
now that it's winter and the car's parked I should really do this huh?
