Re: holy burnt spark plug wire!

Thanks alot guys...

matt 65- The boot on the taylor wires is pretty fat...so that really isn't a bad idea!

Green-Thanks for the link...i believe i've read a little bit about those before. So is that exact set (the link you posted), the set that will work on the LT1?

9001 is the "universal" set. Couldn't tell you more than that, I would think they would work ovc, but you might want to call and ask. 9037 is the LT1 set, but I woulnd't buy those unless you find it easier to run the wires underneath the headers, they won't be nearly long enough to go over the top.

Re: holy burnt spark plug wire!

had those wires..... they still get burnt if they are touching the header directly. Takes longer than other wires to burn.....

Re: holy burnt spark plug wire!

I checked the plug wires this evening and the only boot that was burned was #5, and thats because the heat sleeve slipped off.. I thought #6 was against the header primary also but its not...just real close. I'm going to repair my #5 spark plug boot with a boot that i retrieved from one of my old taylor wires. Hopefully this will last, at least for a little while.

If not, i'll proabably be going with the accel shorty plugs and the 9000 wires.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

I feel the same about $12.73 per plug. ...$101.84 in plugs.

****....not as sad as me! But after something happens like that over and over again, you tend to resort to crazy ideas....i do anyways.

Re: holy burnt spark plug wire!

just use the shorty plugs on the cylinders that need them. Shouldn't be more than 1 or 2 cyclinders that need em.

I heard Accel also makes these plugs. Anyone have some part numbers?

Don't buy the Accel shorty's. Go to Autozone/O'Reilly's or your favorite
auto supply house and buy two Autolite 104's for about $1.20 each....
they are the same length as the Accell shorty.

You may like the ease of plug changes with these plugs so much
that you may replace ALL of your plugs with them. I run the
104's in all cylinders.
