Holley Commander 950 on LT1 car
Holley Commander 950 on LT1 car
I am just about finished my install of my 96 LT1/ 6spd combo in my 87 Camaro. I have many mods done to the motor including splayed 4 bolt, forged internals, ported and re valved heads, custom cam and Vortech T trim blower. I have purchased a Holley Commander 950 stand along engine management system for the car and was just curious if anyone is running one in their car. I am most curious about what type of crank trigger you are running if so. The manual suggests an aftermarket item should be used but does not reccomend one specifically. Any suggestions or should the stock unit do the trick.
Thanks for any input

You'll have to ask Holley if they have an interface for the Opti.
You might have been better off with the Accel/DFI or the FAST (or even the MoTeC). Those will interface with the Opti optical sensor, allowing you to maintain the sequential fuel injection.

The easiest way to do it I beleive would be money...lol you could convert your LT1 to a carbed intake set-up for sequential fuel injection (injector bungs). This way you could utilize the 4 barrel T/B where the carb goes and a dist that was compatable with the Commander 950.

ok I am sure the 950 will work with the LT1 because I bought the one for this specific application. I was hoping that someone on this site had already installed one on their car and could give me any tips.
