Holley is the BEST TB out there!

Ok not only is it the best looking TB out there but man, today after fixing my exhaust leaks etc. I got 129/134 for BLM's, my exhaust comes out of the y-pipe basicly, I have a small muffler welder to the y-pipe (borla muffler) so that maybe why its 134 on one side, but its really close for my setup anyways .

POINT IS! I put an AS&M TB on my that I borrwed from a friend & my BLM"s went 127/160, I know there are mods you can do to help that but why Than I put my stock TB & got 129/135, very impresive, than I put my HOLLEY back on & got 129/134 without any mods to the TB or anything I love Hollye TB's.

Mine is nice to. The best part is that the TPS only took minor clearancing to get it set. With my old BBK it was so hogged out that only one screw would go in.

Have you seen the new NOS throttle body? It looks really nice and has fittings to inject nitrous through it. It's over $500 though

hehe yeah I've seen it. I know exactly what you mean about the BBK, with the holley I also barely took any material off the TPS to get it set, with BBK 1 screw went in when I was done with it man i'm so happy.

I had no problems with the BBK, other than a $1.25 IAC fix.

What problems did you guys have with your TPS? On my BBK it just bolted on and shows proper readings with no need for adjustment.

Mine is a really old one, maybe they've improved them recently. The TPS was nowhere near correct and had to be massively modified to make it set correctly. It's fine with a stock PCM but with my dfi I couldn't get it to set at less than 5% throttle.

I found several defects in my Holley 58mm TB... the gap between the blades and the body was excessive, causing excess air to bypass at closed throttle. The stamped metal lever that limits the travel on opening and closing was loose in the aluminum throttle cable quadrent, and was playing havoc with the alpha-N tuning in my MoTeC (depends exclusively on RPM and TPS for fuel and timing maps). Really no excuse for the sloppy manufacturing tolerances.

In an emergency, I borrowed a BBK 58mm from a buddy of mine, and it worked 100% better than the Holley on my application. I don't run closed loop,so the potential "split BLM" problem is non-existant in my setup. The BBK came off an LT1 that made 1,125HP..... Don't think you could give them a better endorsement than that.

I have reworked the throttle blades in the Holley, and hand filed/fitted them. And I pinned the throttle stop lever to the quadrent, so hopefully the Holley will perform as good as it looks. Somehow, you shouldn't have to remanufacture a $400 piece of equipment.

I had the oposite occur, I bought a BBK 52 mm and had to butcher the TPS to get it to work properly I also had to adjust the throttle cable a full 1 1/2 inches to acheve WOT, then I had to seriously grind down the outer flange so that my bellows would even fit over it. I bought a holly later and it bolted on and the TPS needed only minor adjustment.

I had a few probs with my Holly 52MM TB. It installed pretty easy but I had to butcher my TPS to get it set right and it still will pop up a SES light. I also had to file down the cruise control connection because it was way too big for the plastic end to fit over it. It turned out to be a big PITA but when it runs right its great.
