highest exhaust temps
highest exhaust temps
What do you think the highest is that our exhaust temps get. I'm curious. No guesses please, I can do that....
Jet-Hot says that their Sterling finish (which I'm getting) is good in applications up to 1,300 degrees F. I thought our temps were pretty close to that, no?

Highest surface temp I've ever recorded on my jet-hots was 720 degrees with a $300 raytek infrared probe. So, probably 100 degrees more then that inside the header. I'm sure some cammed cars are a bit hotter.
Thats good to know. But I would imagine them being much higher since the headers are so "well" coated. Isn't that the whole point? I mean don't get me wrong 100 degrees is 100 more than need to be in my engine compartment, but I would imagine that they insulate a little more than that?
No matter how well coated, they're still going to get just as hot as normal headers, or close to it. It's just going to take them a lot longer to get there.
