I used to could easily do it before my engine swap and headers, Hotcam, and 2800stall, but Im wondering if it's the 2800stall that wont allow it to spin/chirp? I can burn the tires all day if I just floor it ,or power brake it though.

 

The stall allows more slip in the transmission, so you're going to get less firmer shifts. A shift kit, or electronic tune will take care of that. I wonder how traction will be for me when I put in a 3200 stall. How does it feel to get rid of that dead spot in the A4 when it shifts, does it keep pulling hard?

 

Yes, but not after a converter w/ no shift kit

A TransGo stage 2 will fix that.

 

with my 383 on BFG DRs at the track I would spin a little bit off the line, chirp 2nd, but no 3rd.

when I put regular street tires on it the only time I stood on it from a stop 1st gear was a massive burnout during which it shifted into second and never stopped burning out. when I finaly got traction at the top of 2nd gear it shifted into 3rd and chirped the tires.

 

I did the high stall and tranny rebuild at the same time, and it actually chirps more now then it did before.. But I know Frank set my tranny up to shift crisply...

BTW, this will probably be move to drivetrain...

 

Johns (1SlowFormula) car still chirps the tires....Even with a 3500 stall, and 2.73 gears...With a completely stock LT1.

My car chrips 1 and 2 gear in my car. I have a built transmission stall and gears.

 

Mine hazes the tires on the 1-2 and chirps them on the 2-3. 2800-3200 protorque

 

dont get a trans-go i remember i got one and every trans shop said throw it away

 

Results vary I guess.. I have close to 20k miles on my 4L60E with a transgo in it, bone stock untouched, consistent 1.6 60' times, all 20k miles of those have been hard miles.

yeah easily in 2nd and 3rd but i think thats more having the tranny rebuilt and etc then anything.
