High volume oil pump question(Do you remove the top of the pump to change the spring)

I have a high volume, high pressure oil pump , and I just want to change the spring to lower the pressure . A lower pressure spring came with the pump. Do I just take the top of the pump off (remove the 4 bolts) to do this?

Thanks.

I believe its just a pin that holds the spring in there..just remove the pin, change spring, and reinsert the pin..

Yes, you do have to have to remove the top to get to the spring pin. No big deal.
