high rpm miss/stumble

when slowly/steadily accelerating, engine will go through entire rpm range with no trouble. if i go WOT, it starts to stumble @ around 4600. any ideas what could be causing this?

Re: high rpm miss/stumble

Does it stumble just at 4600 RPM, or 4600 RPM and up? Does it happen all the time or just intermittently? Does it get worse when it is raining/wet out? I would check fuel pressure first, just so you know you are not driving around lean as hell.

Re: high rpm miss/stumble

i wont go above 4600ish but this happens only @ WOT . a smooth accel and it will go right to stock rev limit. there is also no SES light or anything.

Re: high rpm miss/stumble

mine does the same thing, but I have not tried part throttle high rpm (that high anyway).

Mine stumbles 4500+ in thrid gear + at WOT. I drove around with a fuel pressure gague for a while with mine, all looks well.

Some say plugs, some say opti. I have new plugs/wires/msd digital 6/msd coil waiting to go on in the next week or so. I don't have an opti yet and not sure what to do. There is an MSD one waiting for me at a local shop, but some have had problems.
I also have LT headers waiting to go on, so I was kinda gonna do this all at once!

I dunno, if you have time, change the plugs and let us know how it goes. I'm curious to see.

well i was putting on my pacesetter LTs and found the boot on the #6 plug wire completely burned off. not sure it that was the problem since the headers arent done yet, but im sure it wasnt helping

Re: high rpm miss/stumble

ya, I can't sustain WOT after 4500 RPM. I have my hooker Lts and my msd parts just sitting there waiting to get installed. I might as well do that and change the opti (prob. go with the accel unit at this point) and go from there. My fuel pressure checks out just fine.

Re: high rpm miss/stumble

Well that's cool 'cause I have a spare MAF to try out. I looked for leaks tho, there are none. I also cleaned the stock MAF, no change. I can try the otherone.
