Talking You Guys are the BOMB!!

I finally found what was causing my high (above 5000rpm) miss! After getting some suggestions, I decided to check my ignition system. I pulled my coil wire off, and behold a ton of corrosion. As I grabbed the wire at the coil, I heard a "crunch". Right away I knew that was bad. I cut open the 90* boot, and it was completely gone!! The entire wire was dried, cracked and corroded. Before I cut it, I stuck my multimeter on it, and it measured infinite resistance. Not good. So, after ordering some Taylors, I stripped down the coil wire and put the connector back on using come dielectric grease (to prevent arcing) and some vulcanizing tape. I went out for a spin, and the car ran better than it EVER has! At 5000 rpm, it seemed to pick up some power like it wanted to go to 7000 rpm!
All in all, this problem suprised me because I was still getting around 20-23 mpg, and I never had a problem at low rpm's.
I want to give everyone here a big thank you and let you know that I would have been looking forever to find this.
Thanks again, you're all great!

I dont remember your post but that is exactly what happened with my car too!! I just figured to do plugs and wires first. I did one side first, no help, then the other side, still no help, then the coil wire./ I Measured it too, and had infinite resistance!! I didnt hear a crunch though, I will check out the inside tonight.

glad you got it fixed

Definitely check it out, as it turns out, a lot of people have these problems with the coil wire. It must be prone to moisture, or the stock 7mm wire is too small for the high voltage of the coil-who knows.
