Question High output alternator for LT-1

Who makes a high output alternator for an LT-1?

With all the stuff I'm running, I need a little more sack out of my alternator.

well, first i doubt you need a h.o. alternator. first thing i'd do is get a dry cell battery, like an optima or the interstate red/blue tops (which are GREAT batteries). or get a cap if its the subs. and finally if you really think u need an h.o. last i saw summit had some, but u never know how summit part match up...

I found this, but am just looking for other options and to see what other people are using when they require a little more voltage / amps.

I got mine off Ebay for $200, I've had it for over 2 years, and it works flawlessly.. it's supplying my system of ~2Kwrms nicely.

If this is due to a system... a Cap/Battery is a band-aid for a weak charging system... unliks what other's have said.

I'm running 2 Farad's worth of caps, a 200amp alternator, and even still I get a twitch every once in a while in my Volt gauge.

Upgrade the alternator cable running from the alternator to the positive battery terminal to a 4 guage or 1 guage.

Add a new 4 guage or 1 guage ground wire from your strut tower nut to the negative terminal on your battery.

That should bring you up 1/2 to 3/4 of a notch.

$335??

What kind of warranty does it have?

Let us know how it works out. Probably twice as heavy as the stocker.

Wow! That should do the job... Lot of cash for an alternator though.

Question about this. I did this upgrade, but found it basically impossible to to add the ring terminal, and still have the battery terminal still be able to thread into the battery. The terminal bolt just wasn't long enough with the rubber cover over the battery terminals. What did you guys do?

I didn't use terminal bolts at all.

PM me tomorrow and I'll send you pics of my setup.
