high miles cam swap question
my friend wants to swap a cc305 or cc306 cam in his car. he has about 145k on the odm and it's a 95 firehawk. his oil pressure at start up is about 60 and when it's warm at idle it right at the first white line on the guage in the dash which i think is 20. when he gets on the gas and drives it it's usally at the middle line or above which i think is 40-50psi. he has full bolt ons with an a4. does this sound safe to swap a cam with out looking at the cam bearings??? i heard worn cam bearings lt1's were common and people swap cams in there all the time. he was also gonna install a new oil pump. just wanted to know what anybody thought about this (2 cents).
