I do indeed live in Wayne Co. and would very much appreciate any kind of help that I could get. I am new to any kind of internal engine work but realize that ive got alot of learning ahead of me since I intend on keeping this car for a long time to come.

How much will cam, lifters valvetrain, and gaskets run me? Will this be all I will need to complete the job? Does the Xe 218 have a nice lob to it? Which one should i get?Sorry I do not understand all that much about this stuff if it isnt too obvious. All i know is im not afraid to get dirty and need to save as much money as possible

Again the help is really appreciated! Thanks

Call up seth at combination motorsports

www.cmotorsports.com

Get their cam package, grab a good spring compressor or two and a good magnet. then were talking

ohh yeah if your serious about freshening everything up, we could go as far as you want to go.

we can drop the motor and do a killer 396

we can just replace the water pump, opti and timing chain (very highly reccomended)

we can pull the motor and do a quick oem rebuild (bore 20 over, new bearings, new pistons, turn crank, inspect rods)

My car is almost done- so i'll be prety free afterwards.

I just need tools and a garage
ohh yea KFC works wonders when bribing me

I've actually only seen it done...but, as with anything with some assistance, I can do it. You forget...my car runs Well...you left yourself open on that one.

"throwing" in some cam bearings might prove to be a difficult task

can i ask where you've seen it done, and how they did it?

How are you suggesting to replace the cam bearings without disassembling the engine first? LOL

I suggest to leave the cam bearings alone when replacing the cam, unless you are doing a complete rebuild. .

I live in Wayne. About 1/2 mile from KFC As for how far im wanting to go, the cam is about it for now. I cant really afford to do too much more than that at this time. I left a message at cms and will post a thread in the michigan section as soon as i get everything in order. Thanks again

Quote me as saying that. I'll be waiting...until then, you and Trey find something else to "get" me on.

Now...as for the original poster, before the board clowns came and hijacked your thread, in YET ANOTHER attempt to use ridicule in effort to sound more knowlegable.

Yea...Combination Motorsports has great package deals, I got the CC305 but sold it...kept the springs though. Guess I gotta do those and RRs soon.

I think you are being a bit too sensitive. There are seasoned guys here who really know their stuff. You start saying things that are questionable, you WILL be questioned. No need to get uptight, just back up your claims with proof and everyone can learn something.

BTW...to all who are involved in this...

I sure hope this is not a continuation of the LAST thread I had to lock that involved some of you guys. I will NOT deal with that bickering from this point on. I think I gave everyone enough chances in the last thread I locked.

I really hate to be a jerk, but I also hope everyone understands my point. I don't have time to keep warning people, I will just toss them out on their asses and move on to more important things.

Everyone's copperation and understanding is much appreciated.

Well, Jason my only reason for being a little evasive with these guys is because of the fact that they both seemed to have jumped from the last thread to this one. I stated in here that I did not read the original post properly and backed off it. Never intended to get another started here...but some people just look for that sort of stuff.

Either way; my jumped-of-the-gun post has no relevance here, but get yourself a cherry picker, cam bearing install/removal tool and someone that knows what's going on and if you want, you can do cam bearings. Not saying it's a simple task and never stated it could be done "in the car". Never done it myself, so what may look easy for some might be hard for others, myself included.

I think a lot got carried over here, and I specifically asked everyone not to do that. Nothing good comes from it.

They won't be jumping on you as much, so try not to be as defensive.

We do not allow improper post reading. People who do here that get banned.

Oh wait...sorry...I was stuck in that mode.

What I meant to say was...thanks for clearing that up for everyone. Honest mistake.

Everyone, let's be cool to each other, okay?
