better yet, instead of buying the hi flow cat,buy an aftermarket y-pipe and an orp and you can just unhook the stock one after emissions and hook up the stock one before. It wouldnt take too long.
That sounds even better.

not 100% sure, but thats what a muffler shop said, plus the place that did emissions could lose their license if the state wanted to be *****s about it.

it's a very expensive fine. i think about 10 grand.
wow, alot of people on this board have a hook-up for the GOOD crack

they will give you a fix-it-ticket (no fine) and you will have 20 days to simply put the old cat back in....

again, no biggy

dude, hi-flow cats are $300+, and still restrict flow.

the best one, is a taking the cat OFF and putting in a straight pipe, then simply putting the cat back ON for the emission test...

About that... lol i think most high flow cats are created equal. Please tell me though, why spend hundreds of dollars on a supposed 5 hp or less gain?

exactly, which is why he should TAKE OFF the cat and put in a straight pipe for 60 bucks and a solid 7-9 rwhp gain

if you are worried about emissions just get a regular cat. and have an exhaust shop flange it and and orp so you could switch back and forth when you wanted.

do my plan, y-pipes are less than 100 and orp is 80-90. So spend 200 or so and gain 15-20, and you can still bolt up the stock setup.

you wont get fined $10,000. if a shop does it, and they get caught, they could be fined up to $50,000, but if you did it yourself, they will simply make you put it back on.

I'll answer your question but I don't know how this site operates and could get in trouble. I was on another car forum where the owners were dis-honest and would do anything to sell products from their affiliate. I owned AND tested their product and it does not do squat. I made this clear and they flamed me for it. Anyway, honesty counts in my book. My honest and tested opinion is that they are a total gimmick. Do not buy a "high-flow"cat period. I have a 94' LT-1 that I put headers on and then a "high-flow" cat. It made absolutely "0" difference as compared to the stock cat- at the track after 5 quarter mile runs! I then took the damn cat completely off and the car ran 4 tenths better every time. It was as if the headers could work because they were unblocked. On top of that it was the best sounding Z I have ever had. So, there is NO good high flow cat. Get the I pipe or don't waste your money.
