Hey all, I'm back. Going to try this again...get the 383 running.

Here's my plugs today. 0 miles, maybe 10 minutes of run time.
I'm guessing I have an exhaust leak on #8 back there eh? Hope it's just a loose bolt and not a blown gasket.

Did ya try your smaller injectors?

Those plugs look like hell. #2 & #4 looks wet - do they have fuel on them or oil? Does it run any better when you unplug the MAF and let it default into speed density?

Good luck man, that's some ****ed up **** you are going through
My plugs did EXACTLY the same thing, this is why I'm at my wits end and about to pay someone to tune it! For your pocketbook and sanity I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Kevin, I hadn't tried that yet. I do have a replacment MAF off of someone elses car though to try.
Reason I'm looking at the MAF is because of the Code 48...does that code throw off for much more than an actual bad MAF? Still working on the back 2 pass side plugs then I'll check the V on the 3 MAF wires.

Adds up quickly.I know what you mean about taking it to get tuned somewhere...I'm just hoping with the tune from Ion, datalogs, etc., that Ion can hook it up good! Or I want my "Unlimited tunes" fee back.
j/kI shot him an email and pointed him to this thread, we'll see what he says.

My BLM's are just 128/128 from what I can tell, they don't change at all. Is that what they call "split-BLM's" or is that something else? I've got to read up on BLM's...

Split BLMs are when it's running closed loop and the L or R BLM is higher or lower than the other by some appreciable amount - one side is richer/leaner than the other for usually a mechanical reason or maybe O2 sensor.
Re: Hey all, I'm back. Going to try this again...get the 383 running.
So at first it runs off a programmed table, then once it warms up, it starts running in closed loop, where the PCM makes it's own adjustments?
At what point does it kick over toclosed loop? Is WOT closed loop also?
Plugs in, valve covers off...doing the rockers again.

Re: Hey all, I'm back. Going to try this again...get the 383 running.
Closed loop is based on time and temp and O2 sensor readiness (I think)
WOT is not really closed loop in the sense that it ignores the O2 sensors and fuels off the MAF, enrichment tables, and saved BLMs (unless you have them locked to 128)

You could also have a intake gasket leak as well.... if there is oil on the plugs. The heads from Ai looked good in terms of valve seals and guides and I know we seated the rings properly that night ;-).
