did u get the firebird fixed, or get rid of it?

I just changed my coil, coil wire, and fuel filter. Definately runs alot smoother, and everything i've done was needed, but the problem is still there. it seems to be really intermittant tho. sometimes i'll give it 1/2 throttle and it will melt the tires. sometimes i'll floor it and they wont even chirp also, for good measure i replaced the serpintine belt, and I found that my alternator is really squeaky when u turn the pulley. i have a high pitched whine (sounds like a supercharger but not quite as loud) at wot, I always assumed it was my cold air intake whistling, but I think its the alt is this a sign its going bad? if so this could definately be part of the problem. also, i've had the same battery in there the two years i've owned it. don't know when the previous owner changed it so its pretty damn old. think i might as well throw in a new battery too.

same here

same thing has been happening to my car from a stop, there is a hesitation (bog like) before the car accelerates (A4 car). I'll be replacing a few things this week and hopefully it will be resolved.

I ended up selling it but i changed the Opti and it didn't make a difference... The opti was shot though... car wouldn't start when it sat in the rain for over 12 hours and wasn't run... i had to drive it constantly which wasn't that bad since I worked until 2am and would go to sleep late and i would just run it for 15 minutes before i went to sleep and i would run it again when i woke up (if it was raining)

I had the same problem too. I replaced the entire ignition system and checked the 02 (for other reasons as well)

anyway, the other day I just got a suspision because of a strange rich condition I was also having. and ran seafoam through the engine. Hesitation is almost completely gone. I'm going to try the injectors next.

I heard about a process called Motorvac CarbonClean. Check out what they say about it on the 94 - 96 impala forum. Worth a shot for everyone that has exhausted all other options. Seems like it works like the seafoam. motorvac thread Towards the last page of the thread is a list of mechanics that do this process. Hope this helps anyone. I don't have any hesitation but i'm going to do it anyway to see if i can get a crisper throttle, better gas mileage.

I took mine in because there was something electronically wrong w/ the torque converter lockup... code 28.. they fixed it and the hesitation magically dissapeared too. Don't know if i was just lucky or it just hasn't shown it self yet, but in 2 days of driving in hot weather its been fine. so w00t

I also have the hesitation around 2K rpms hitting the gas from a stop or slow roll. I have new plugs and wires and blocked off my EGR but i still slightly have the hesitiation at the same time every now and again. Ive ready through this entire post and it sounds EXACTLY the same as mine. However, im so confused because many people have said their LT1 got fixed but i never saw any consitency in what fix to do. I have no clue what to do, but it is really annoying and is definitly robbing power...
PLEASE HELP

Cory

You can't go wrong with cleaning the engine.
