Re: heres my idea

For what you want to spend, you can still get what you want out of your motor. Rebuild your LT1 you have now with stock rods (reconditioned) and crank and get some decent forged pistons like Speed Pros. Have a good machine shop do the work as a good shop will be able to balance the crank to tighter tolerances than the factory. Also use ARP bolts for the bottom end and Clevite 77 bearings. A fresh stock bottom end with a few reinforcements like better bolts and good crank balancing will be able to live to 7000rpm pretty easily. Just keep it in tune. As for the other stuff, a stage II ported head and cam package from Lloyd will run you around $1600, but I think you'll still need lifters. This will get you close to 400rwhp with a good tune and long tube headers.

Re: heres my idea

ok so ive dropped the forced induction idea all together. too much maintinance. my new goal is 450 whp heads and cam motor. it seems like its atainable, and it seems like a good all around number.

i was looking at adavnced induction heads. as a starter point. where do i need to go from here to get to my goal.
