Here's the 355 build sheet. Suggestions welcomed
Here's the way the new motor is going/has gone together. The car is a '93Z that has went 12.0 with the stock bottom end/CC305/and ported heads. I'm reusing the heads on the new motor, after having them checked out...They've only got about 2000 miles on them. The car was full weight
(3448#) when it went 12.0, and had a completely stock suspension.
Along with the new motor, the car's going on a diet. No more A/C, PS, bumper supports or back seat. I'm doing a AJE manual rack conversion, AJE mild steel k-member, Spohn mild steel lower a-arms, QA1 front shocks and springs, Spohn moly torque arm, Spohn mild steel lower control arms, Spohn frame connectors (Yes it went 12.0 without connectors...LOL). Installing Jaz racing buckets, B&M shifter with console delete, and lightweight carpet. Weight will be added, in the form of a mild steel 8 pt. cage. Car should be around 3150-3200# with me in it.
The nitrous system is an NX wet system with NX TPS switch, NX "Maximizer" digital progressive controller, MSD digital spark retard, and NX genX-2 package. I will be spraying between 150 and a 200 shot.
Gears are 3.73's, and tires are 26"x11.5" M/T Et Streets
Here's the engine. http://www.geocities.com/max_wylde/355.html
Looking to go low 11's on the motor, and low 10's/high 9's on the juice.

Here is my profile from when GM High Tech weighed it at Englishtown for the bolt-on LT1 meet. Yea, everyone else there was surprised at how light it was, too. http://www.geocities.com/max_wylde/GM_High_Tech.jpg

Wow! That's impressive!

1/2 tank of gas and him in it, it weighed 3950!

My car only came with a few options. 3.23 rear, cruise control, Z rated tires, and automatic transmission. I wonder how much weight certain option add on. T-tops, power windows, power locks, leather interior, power seats?

Looking good Frank. You should have no problems running low 11's NA and low 10's on the 200shot. Are you still going to use those 1-5/8 headers? BTW my T/A which had all the options weighed in at 3,640lbs stock with me in it and no front swaybar or spare/jack. It has taken me awhile to get it down to a 3,450 raceweight w/o gutting the car.

You will think this is bs, but my 94 weighs 3250 without me in it. Only thing missing was the spare tire and jack, and it had 16" roh wheels on it, with a 1/4 tank of gas. Go figure.

looks nice, im in the process of doing something almost identical, and looking for identical times. only problem i may see is using those lifters with the k-800 springs. supposedly stock lifters (and those are just oem replacements) can only handle about 150/425ish lbs and the springs are more like 170/480. i opted to go with morels in mine, just to be safe

I would be a little worried running that motor on a stock crank with a 200 shot of nos. Also you don't say in the build sheet, but main studs would be a necesity at that power level. Also head studs to contain all that cylinder pressure. Cometec gaskets are great but you need to have good clamp load on the head for them to work, you can have a leak with those gaskets and not even know it because of the way they are designed, they will seal right back up once cylinder pressure drops.
With that much nos, you should get some dyno runs made to make sure that your air/fuel ratio stays good with the nos to avoid burning down pistons.
Other that that sounds good. Should be a scarry ride.

Machinist...It has Moroso main studs. I can't use head studs, because if I ever needed to pull a head, I'd have to take the motor out (no cowl clearance).
From what I understand, the stock LT1 crank is one of the toughest factory cranks that's been made. I know of a few that are beating the hell out of stock cranks. A good friend of mine is running 10.20's with a 200 shot on a stock crank 355. Jason Warren ran 9.5X's with a stock crank and a 300 shot. I put alot of research into it , but I understand your thoughts.
Yup...Definitely doing some dyno time
Hawk...I wasn't aware of the lifter problems. I'll check into that. Thanks
Frank

The crank is tough but I bet they don't run 10.2's long.

On NASCAR scales it weighs 3490 without me.
