Arrow Help!..SES light on when rains

I guess my car is scared of rain. When it starts to rain pretty hard my SES light comes on and the car starts to idle like crap(real rough). If i park it and let it sit for a while, the light will stay on for a while and eventually go off when the weather gets better. It acts like a sensor gets wet and when it dries out the SES light goes out..........anyone had this problem?, I have a new opti on it, but could it be a oxygen sensor?.........help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a ported mass air sensor, maybe it gets wet somehow? causing a wacky reading

Only way to know is to scan it. See what code is set and reset the code.

Then check the signal wire and connectors for problems

And after you scan it, find a $700 beater to drive in the rain...well worth it

Just got home after a big rain storm and got a check engine light. I figured it was my K&N that got soaked but when i hooked up my scanner it said it was code P0152. Just like your problem. The car would take off normally till it hit 20k then it would stall then after 10 sec it would kick on and spin the tires. I believe its my O2 sensor and wires on my jet-hot LT's that got soaked. Maybe even fried one(i hope not). Anyone else got any input on this. Hope to have it fixed by tommorow morning.

Did you find out what your problem was?

My car runs funny right before and during a rain storm. No ses light though. This info would be helpful.

i had the same thing happen to me. Rain, carwash, or tonnes of wet snow would do it. Even supremely cold weather (-30) would make that happen too (switch ebtween open and closed loop with that ses light). It ended up wtih an o2 sensor code. replaced it and it has been fine since. I will know for sure when this winter comes around.

P0152 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) circuit high voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1

Sounds like when the harness connector gets wet (extensions?) its allowing voltage to leak between the +12V heater wire and the signal wire.

I fixed my problem, my o2's got soaked, when i unwrapped the tape on my extended harnness water came pouring out. I bought new sensors and the car runs great with no more codes.

Also my 9 inch K&N filter sits too low, and when it rains it gets soaked. Need to raise it up.
