HELP! Removing AIR fittings...

I need to replace one of my AIR System fittings on the drivers side (the one which is bolted right onto the exhaust manifolds). How can i get the elbow pipe out? Is there a tool which can make this a bit easier for me? I can't seem to get a good angle on it with my wrench, it also seems REALLY tight.

Its the picture in the top left of this:

Are you talking about the nut that goes into the manifold? If so, I used one of those O2 sensor sockets to break it loose, and then used a 7/8" open-ended wrench to slowly turn it the rest of the way off. Lots of PB blaster, too. It's pretty easy to round off that nut if you don't get that O2 socket seated squarely.

Hmm I have my O2 socket here but its not quite big enough. The nut in the picture above looks a bit different than what I have to take off and put in. Mine looks like a 1" socket is needed...

I guess I'll have to go hunting for a 1" O2 socket to use!

Hmm at first i was thinking you had the manifold out of the car but I read it wrong. The only thing I can think of is using a rubber mallet but I really doubt you could ever get a hit on the wrench since everything is so tight.

1" wrench, turn quickly and put a lot of force into it. I had to remove mine a few weeks ago. It wasn't very hard to do for me.
