Question help power window problem!!!

Hey everyone....
Finally back and all was well on my 94 z until yesterday when i was changing out my drivers side power window motor. The two power wires from the switch touched and shorted out... Now none of the windows work, and the radio is not working either.
The breaker for that circuit tested out ok, and is getting power. When it started to rain, I bypassed all the circuitry and ran jumpers from the battery to the switch to temporarily roll the windows up. That worked fine, so the switch and the motors are still good. Any ideas on what the heck could be the problem?
Could i have shorted out the RAP module? Help!!!

This is why we always disconnect the battery when working on the electronics.
Maybe the Shoe can help. I would check the fuses and such and see if you blew any.

Yea bro, I totally forgot to disconnect the battery. Must have had a mental lapse or something...inhaled too much sand overseas.
I tested and visually checked all the fuses in the block and all were well. The problem has to lie somewhere between the fuse block and the switches. Shoebox where are you!!!???

You say the windows breaker is getting power with the key ON? That would likely mean the RAP is ok.

Key ON.

You should have 12v at the brown wire at the switch connector. The black wire should have ground at all times.

Connect switch.

Next check at the connector to the motor.

Key ON.

No switches operated:
drk blu wire should have a ground on it
you will see a ground on the brn wire, too

Press DOWN on switch:
brn wire should show 12v
drk blu should remain grd

Press UP on switch
brn wire should show ground
drk blu should show 12v

What you might have blown is the express down module.

Use this schematic if you can. It is a bit complicated.

It looks like you could bypass the express down module by unplugging it and jumpering from cavity "E" (gry) to "D" (brn). That should be all you need to do.
