HELP plastic blocks fell off oil ring

Hi, I am assembleing an engine, and my courigated oil controll ring lost 1 or both of the plastic blocks, is this anything to be concerned over. I think they are only to aid in assembly, but I am not sure so I thought I would check.
Thanks
Aleks

Ring mfr. should have a tech line. At the least, this is a bump.

I would definetely have them replaced, it may aid in not scratching the cylinder walls and giving it the proper tension

I finished installing the pistons. I went ahead anyway, because I can't see how they would affect anything. I think they are there just to aid in the installation because when they are not there it is easy to overlap them, but I checked and re checked, and I am sure they are properly butted together. I could be wrong though, so if any one knows other wise please tell me.
