I have just bought a lt1 motor from some guy that got it out of a 95 vet that i plan on putting in my 87 z28. He said that i need a harness and comp...what system do i go with cause i herd of the obdI and obdII but i dont know the difference between the two. I also dont know if i should get the painless wiring harness or not cause of the gauge wire.would that matter?

Check my sig as i am a transplanter too. You can use a 94-95 harness corvette, fbody or impala will work. No matter what you will have to reprogram your PCM. I would try to find a 94 if possible just for the fact of the programming plug. 95 is and odb1 with an obd2 plug. You could actually use a newer harness if you feel like taking a few things out. Newer harness older (94 -95) PCM. IMO after 6 transplants the painless just aint worth it if you can do some basic stuff yourself. I would plan on a programming cable so you can program out VSS, EVAP, VATS, EGR and so forth. Much easier than the painless modules.
